On November 5^th, 2015, Bac Giang’s Department for Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and the People Committee organized an opening ceremony for a new community drug treatment site located in Da Mai’s commune health clinic, Bac Giang province.
 
The clinic is one of 20 community drug treatment sites in Bac Giang and one of those to receive technical support from SCDI under the scope of Asia Action on Harm Reduction. This is an effort to implement Bac Giang’s plan in realizing the Drug treatment Renovation Plan issued in 2013 by the Government. Bac Giang’s plan includes developing a network of community drug treatment sites, working closely with one voluntary drug treatment center which provides comprehensive services including detoxification, counselling, psychosocial support, vocational training and referral.
 
Da Mai community drug treatment site has 1 room for detoxification, 2 rooms for counseling and 1 room for group meeting. The site has started to provide services for drug users in the neighborhood as well as nearby areas.
