Delegation on examining the management of foreign funds by VUSTA affiliated organizations

In order to strengthen the compliance with the State regulations in the management and use of foreign funds as well as improve the effectiveness of foreign funds projects, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) has organized a “Delegation on examining the management of foreign funds by the affiliated organizations in the VUSTA system" at the Hanoi office of Center for Supporting Community Development Initiatives (SCDI), August 18th 2017.

The head of the delegation team is Dr. Nghiem Vu Khai, Vice President of VUSTA, National Assembly Member of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The work content of the inspection team consists of three issues: examination of the management and implementation of foreign aid projects: approval, implementation, periodic reports, reports upon changes, etc., of foreign aid projects; financial management of the organization for foreign aid projects, the implementation of tax policies and obligations, etc., and the organizations governance: Administration, personnel.

Welcoming the inspection team, Dr. Khuat Thi Hai Oanh, SCDI Director, gave a brief report on the overall situation of the Center, followed by meetings, updates and general discussions to agree on the basic content of the meeting minutes (stating in which issues the Center has performed well, in which area the Center need to improve, and issues that need to be suggested for the State management). Next, the Delegation requested specific examination of the records of some of the activities carried out by SCDI.

The delegation will supervise 9 organizations in Hanoi, followed by local centers, all visits are scheduled to end on October 30th 2017.
