Our projects

Reduce the vulnerability and improve the quality of life of street-based sex workers

Sex workers are vulnerable and it’s even more so for street-based sex workers. Many of them use drugs, many are living with HIV, many are 30 – 40 years old and older, and many have children. They suffered from stigma and discrimination, violation, poverty, unstable housing as well as health problems. Many are neglected by their own family and denied their right to care for and live with their child.

Assessment on Universal access in Vietnam

The project supports activists in the community to assess their participation in the process of universal access and data analysis on the epidemic as well as the needs of key population and prevention aspects, identify gaps and achievements, advocate for universalized access that can reflect the real situation of the epidemic, monitor and document the process.

Organizational development and support for people who use drugs

Vietnam has approximately 150,000 – 180,000 people who use drugs. They are the most-at-risk population to HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C transmission and un-timely death. Besides from health consequences, the community is often seen as “social evil” – strongly stigmatized against.

Beauty Plus Festival

In commemorate the first HIV detected case in Vietnam 20 years ago, SCDI and Bright Future Network (BFN+, a network of People living with HIV in the North) organized the Beauty Plus Festival for women who are living with HIV. (the Plus sign indicates not only HIV-positive but also the positive and active participations of PLHIV).
