Real life Fairy tale
Ngày 24 tháng 10 năm 2018
On a sunny day in Sai Gon, we met at 9:30 am in front of the Notre-Dame Basilica to continue our fund raising for the Children Program – Southern region.
Before, we, office workers, could hardly imagine ourselves bringing colorful boxes and walking around the park trying to sell the goods to people. The experience we had was strange and yet totally heart-warming.
There was this man riding a motorbike bumping into us, and before we could even response, he right away bought several goods and asked heartily about our activity.
There was this high-schooler, who pulled out his last cent to buy the goods to support those who weren’t as fortunate.
There were the 2 Japanese girls in Vietnam’s Ao dai who were taking photos in the park and very excitedly took out their wallet to buy the goods without really understanding the currency.
And there were several people who did not buy anything but was very patient to listen to us introducing about our activities.
SCDI values all of these supports for the children.
We hope each individual effort will become great collective contribution to help the disadvantaged children to be able to have the opportunity to study, grow and develop, and to be confident in life.
More importantly, we could see that in the fast-pace Saigon, there are still real life fairytales. As long as the children determine to pursue their dream, nothing is impossible.
