Ngày 25 tháng 10 năm 2018
On 7th – 10th April 2015 in Can Tho, 28 members from 5 Branches for Social Vices Prevention and CSVT from 5 provinces (of Can Tho, Khanh Hoa, Kien Giang, Tay Ninh and Tien Giang) participated in the training to become trainers for their local Community Social Volunteer Teams.
Mr Nguyen Xuan Lap, Manager of Department for Social Vices Prevention, delivered the opening speach (top left) and some activities at the training.
Similar to two previously conducted TOT in Phu Tho and Hoa Binh, the training covered overview of policies and laws on social vices prevention, human trafficking, HIV, sex work, drugs as well as useful skills for the CSVT including outreach, counseling, referral, case management and resource mobilization etc.
“The course was very well structured with enthusiastic facilitators which helped me understand very easily”, shared one participant from Can Tho.
After 3 days of training, each province chose one covered topic to present in front of the class. The 5 presentations of 5 provinces were highly praised by the organizer.
“We are very glad that after this course many participants can become trainers to then pass their knowledge and skills to other members of CSVT”, said a representative of the organizer.
With 3 TOT courses conducted, 81 trainers from 15 provinces have been graduated, thus ensuring the core trainers for CSVT across the country.
SCDI has officially completed and transferred training materials for CSVT to the Department for Social Vices Prevention, which will then to be distributed to 63 provinces. Until April 2015 a number of provinces have used the training material for their volunteers.
Representatives of the five provinces were awarded the training materials (left), and they used the materials in their trial teaching on the last day of the training (right).
“I have participated in several trainings but this course is the first one that provides me with such comprehensive materials and booklet. This will of great use to me when I conduct training for other volunteers in my province”, a participant from Tay Ninh said after the training.
