The new school year has also brought renewed energy to Breaking the Cycle activities across different project sites. In Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hai Phong, children were welcomed back with the companionship of volunteers, project staff, and partners to begin a new year full of hope.
In Hanoi, the school-year “kick-off” event featured the introduction of the new cohort of Hyundai Jumpschool volunteers. Parents and children came together to form classes, receive schedules, and learn about upcoming activities for the year, ranging from scholarships and the “Adopting A Dream” program initiated by HSBC and Aide et Action Vietnam to tutoring sessions, health check-ups provided by VinUni medical residents, and monthly meetings for both parents and students.

In Ho Chi Minh City, weekend group sessions continued, offering children valuable experiences such as emotional management skills, a mini summer camp, and other activities closely tied to everyday life. These sessions provide a safe space for learning, sharing, and building friendships under the guidance of the project team.

In Hai Phong, preparations have also been underway, including scholarship and nutrition support, as well as collaboration with specialists to provide psychological assessments and in-depth counseling for children. All these efforts aim to build a strong foundation for their holistic development.

Most activities are held on weekends to fit with children’s and families’ schedules. Still, project staff remain ready to devote extra time beyond regular hours to accompany the children. Each of these efforts contributes to a school year filled with motivation, confidence, and solidarity, ensuring that the journey of Breaking the Cycle continues to grow through community understanding and support.
