Bringing community voices into a more responsive and sustainable HIV response in Ninh Binh

On October 3, SCDI was honored to welcome a delegation of experts from The Global Fund, the Viet Nam Administration of Disease Prevention, the Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) for the Global Fund in Vietnam, and the Ninh Binh Center for Disease Control for a visit and working session with “Trăng Khuyết 35” - a local community-based organization.

During the session, the delegation learned about the group's ongoing activities and recognized the results it has achieved in the local HIV/AIDS response. Drawing on its experience on the ground, Trăng Khuyết 35 also shared perspectives on the opportunities and challenges it encounters, as well as the practical needs of the community.

The exchange provided a closer look at the realities of HIV/AIDS response at the local level and reinforced the important role of community groups in bringing services closer to populations experiencing greater vulnerability. It also gave the participants an opportunity to share information and discuss directions for sustaining effective HIV/AIDS response efforts that remain responsive to local realities and community needs.
