Diverse activities for children in the Breaking the Cycle project in Ho Chi Minh City

Recently, the Breaking the Cycle project team members in Ho Chi Minh City organized meaningful activities for children of various age groups as part of the project’s framework.

For first and second graders, a session themed "My Body - My Emotions" was held to equip the children with the knowledge to recognize and prevent sexual abuse. This activity not only raised awareness about their own bodies and emotions but also helped them build confidence to share with adults when faced with unsafe situations. The project team utilized creative methods, such as educational animated videos and simple illustrated boards, to make the content easily understandable and memorable for the children.

With support from students of Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted and the High School for the Gifted VNUHCM, third to fifth-graders participated in an engaging session themed "Về Nguồn” (Back to the Roots). The children had the opportunity to learn about the history and significance of the Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day, fostering a love for and pride in national culture. Additionally, they received small gifts from the project’s donors as a meaningful gesture of encouragement. These gifts were the result of local resource mobilization efforts by project staff to support and encourage the active participation of children and their families in the project’s activities.
