First meeting after Tết holiday with children and parents in the Breaking the Cycle project

Last weekend, thirty children in the "Breaking the Cycle" project in Ho Chi Minh City enjoyed their joyful and meaningful first gathering after the Tet holiday.

The event provided a warm welcome back, with lighthearted activities designed to help the children reconnect and share their Tet experiences. They practiced expressing gratitude and apologies, reinforcing important social skills, and swapping stories about their holiday celebrations with family.

The gathering was made even more special by the presence of 129 parents. This provided a valuable opportunity for reflection as parents shared their observations of the positive changes they’d seen in their children over the past semester with "Breaking the Cycle."  The heartfelt stories—from increased confidence and happiness to greater willingness to help around the house and improved communication with parents—were deeply moving and inspiring for the SCDI team.

SCDI also would like to sincerely thank the SeABank team for their generous support. SeABank contributed 50 gift bags filled with lucky money envelopes, books, pens, candy, and other treats, bringing smiles and excitement to the children as they started the new year.

The collaboration with organizations like SeABank, the trust shown by parents, and the happy smiles of the children are powerful motivations for the "Breaking the Cycle" project. These elements drive the project’s ongoing commitment to supporting children from vulnerable families, empowering them to stay in school and continue their education.
