Community-led activity to raise awareness about tuberculosis: simple but effective

In Ho Chi Minh City, community-driven tuberculosis (TB) awareness campaigns are being conducted in simple, accessible ways by members of the Community System to End TB (CSET), with support from SCDI. Key information, such as how TB spreads, its symptoms, and prevention methods, is shared directly in the neighborhoods through casual talks or wall posters packed with practical details.

At SCDI, the community is placed at the heart of all of our activities. These approachable communication efforts aim to educate, reduce fear, and remove the stigma surrounding TB. Accurate knowledge empowers individuals to protect themselves and contribute to building a safer, healthier community.

These small yet meaningful actions reflect the dedication of SCDI and CSET to bringing real, positive change to the community, demonstrating our commitment to practical and impactful solutions for public health.

SCDI successfully facilitated training on mental health in Bangkok

SCDI was honored to participate in and successfully facilitate the Lift Up: Your Mental Health, Your Power training in Bangkok. This was co-organized by Youth LEAD, YPEER Asia Pacific Center - Ypeer AP, and Youth Voices Count, Inc. The impactful program brought together young key populations across Asia to learn and share skills in mental resilience, emotional strength, and awareness about mental health.

Participants also had the opportunity to visit Tangerine Clinic - a typical example of an inclusive, youth-centered care model - to learn about how community-sensitive services are provided.

Reflecting on the experience, one participant shared, "I feel empowered with knowledge and ready to make a difference."

SCDI would like to thank Youth LEAD, YPEER AP, and Youth Voices Count, Inc. for this meaningful opportunity. We look forward to continued collaboration to spread positive messages and foster a safer, more supportive environment for youth mental health and community well-being.
