SCDI presents to readers the outstanding news in April 2022


 

VinUni University resident doctor joins SCDI in the journey "For public health" 

April 28th marked the end of the social cooperation journey between SCDI and the resident doctor program of VinUniversity Institute of Health Sciences.  Every week for four months, 11 resident doctors have been working with SCDI to improve the health of TB patients, methadone patients, transgender people and disadvantaged children. From surveying health care needs and obstacles, organizing in-home counseling, health education training to developing communication materials.

Donated more than 10 tons of clothes to people in need  

Within a short time of launching, "Green Wardrobe – donation of storybooks and used clothes" jointly organized by AEONMALL Vietnam and SCDI has received enthusiastic responses. A total of 10,636 tons of children's clothing and storybooks were sent.  

Clothes were sorted to filter out those that do not match the style and size, ... and storybooks were also arrange separately according to the age of the child, then SCDI would send to Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong and Binh Phuoc.

Field trip to SCDI activities in Hai Phong and Thai Binh 

On April 5th – 6th, SCDI launched a field trip in Hai Phong and Thai Binh with the participation of the monitoring team of the National Coordinating Board of the Global Fund to Fight HIV, Tuberculosis and Malaria in Vietnam (CCM). SCDI and CBOs will be a bridge between communities affected by these three epidemics and health services in the context of the Covid-19 epidemic and the existence of many barriers to access other health care. Many issues with vulnerable communities were shared with the monitoring team.

Project connection and coordination meeting in Hai Phong  

At the conference, project activities on HIV/AIDS prevention in 2021 and the plan to implement the target 90-90-95; tuberculosis; support for harm reduction, treatment and social inclusion for drug users; support for children under the “Breaking the cycle” project were reported and summarized. SCDI conducted harm reduction interventions by connecting CBOs across the city to access counseling for high-risk HIV testing.

Social cooperation: primary health care programme for vulnerable people 

SCDI cooperatesd with the Institute of Health Sciences – VinUniversity to implement a social cooperation program on the topic of health care of vulnerable communities. Through this activity, 11 resident doctors from VinUni will conduct questionnaires to survey health issues, barriers as well as common practices, from which recommendations and primary health care communication materials can be provided for this community.
