To contribute to the 90-90-90 target and further increase the proportion of high-risk of infection groups having access to friendly HIV testing services in Thai Binh province, from 18 to 20 September 2017, the Center for Supporting Community Development Initiatives (SCDI) Sub-Project Management Unit organized a training on "Community-based HIV testing counseling skills" for CBOs in Thai Binh, within the framework of VUSTA - Global Fund for Fighting HIV/AIDS, with trainers from the Thai Binh provincial AIDS prevention and control center (PAC).

The training was organized with the aim of reinforcing student’s HIV/AIDS knowledge such as virus, transmission route, risk factors and benefits of early testing. Trainees are provided with counseling and pre-test counseling, post-test counseling for high-risk populations, biosafety processes, reading and interpretation skills, and referral techniques for clients with "responsive" screening results, how to use the reporting format as required.

Nearly 20 social workers belonging to self-help groups such as Vu Thu Brothers, Sympathy, Thorny Roses, etc. have met the criteria for community-based testing (laytest) and received the certificate of training completion, provided by SCDI and PAC Director of Thai Binh Province.
