Coinciding with the One Health Summit held in Lyon, France from 5 to 7 April, the French Embassy in Vietnam recently hosted an exhibition showcasing collaborative efforts between France and Vietnam to advance the One Health approach and improve the health of people, animals, and the environment.

As part of the exhibition, SCDI's community health initiatives were featured as examples of contributions to interdisciplinary and sustainable approaches to health.

Over the years, the support of French institutions and organisations has enabled SCDI to implement a wide range of initiatives that improve the health and wellbeing of vulnerable communities. Through these partnerships, community-led initiatives have expanded, access to essential services has increased, and positive change has reached more people.

Looking ahead, under the ASEACA project funded by the French Development Agency (AFD) and coordinated by the French Agricultural Research Centre for International Development (CIRAD), SCDI will continue working with partners to strengthen research, promote data sharing, and develop early warning tools, particularly for zoonotic diseases, through the One Health approach.

At the same time, SCDI will continue building on its strengths in community engagement to advance the One Health approach, contributing to more effective and sustainable models for epidemic preparedness and response.
