Thai Nguyen has recently experienced severe natural disasters, causing heavy damage. The floods disrupted lives, sweeping away homes, roads, and infrastructure. Beyond food and basic necessities, menstrual health and hygiene are also essential needs - yet they are often overlooked or difficult to discuss.

Understanding this, SCDI connected with and received support from Kotex, a brand under Kimberly-Clark Vietnam, to deliver a total of 13,000 packs of sanitary pads to 6,000 women and girls in areas severely affected by the floods in Thai Nguyen.

The brand shared: “Kotex is always committed to its mission of accompanying and providing the best care for Vietnamese women in every situation, while promoting the spirit of ‘Women Do Extraordinary Things.’ Recognizing the urgent need to protect the health of women who have just gone through severe natural disasters, and with SCDI’s coordination, Kotex promptly joined hands to deliver sanitary products to affected areas, believing that this would offer meaningful support to women in times of emergency.”

The donated products were transported by SCDI and handed over to the Thai Nguyen Provincial Women’s Union for distribution to affected households, as well as to students of the University of Education - Thai Nguyen University.
