SCDI celebrates 15 years: A journey of resilience

January 20, 2025, marks the 15th anniversary of SCDI’s establishment. This year’s celebration is more special than ever, as members reunited, and reflect on a proud 15-year journey.

Fifteen years is a long journey filled with challenges, yet it is also deeply meaningful. Throughout this time, the perseverance and dedication of each individual, combined with the unity and sharing spirit of the entire organization, have been a powerful force helping SCDI overcome obstacles and steadily reach this remarkable milestone.

To commemorate this special occasion, SCDI has chosen ceramic medals as symbolic gifts. Each medal is carefully moulded, fired, and meticulously refined. These ceramic medals embody not only resilience and durability but also the humble spirit of SCDI members. Every medal is unique, handcrafted, and bears one common trait—the SCDI imprint. It took two failed attempts before achieving the final product, symbolizing SCDI’s relentless efforts to improve and excel in its mission. These medals serve as a heartfelt tribute to each member—those who have contributed their own marks, adding vibrant colors to this 15-year journey.

Medal for the “Gardeners” - SCDI’s story is like a garden. Fifteen years ago, there were dedicated "gardeners" who carefully selected a plot of land, sowed the first seeds, and nurtured them with care, ensuring that the young shoots would grow and flourish.

Medals for the “Young shoots" - Awarded to members who have been with SCDI for less than two years—those at the beginning of their journey, constantly learning, refining their skills, and preparing to bloom.

Medals for the "Blossoms" - These are given to members who have worked at SCDI for two to five years. These individuals have accumulated knowledge and experience and are beginning to spread positive values—like young shoots that have absorbed enough water, light, and nutrients to bloom and bring fresh fragrances to the garden.

The most special medal was presented to Ms. Khuất Thị Hải Oanh, SCDI’s Director. She has been a steadfast pillar of the organization, embodying the roles of both "gardener," "shady tree," and "seed sower." Through her leadership, SCDI has navigated challenges and spread meaningful values. This special medal was handed to Ms. Oanh by SCDI’s youngest members, the "Young Shoots," as a token of appreciation.

Each SCDI member left their fingerprint on the medal frame—a unique imprint to commemorate SCDI’s 15-year journey.

Together, we will keep moving forward with strength, determination, and an unwavering commitment to supporting communities, ensuring no one is left behind.
