SCDI presents to readers the outstanding news of January 2026.
SCDI celebrates 16 years of development
From January 19 to 20, SCDI members gathered in Chiang Mai to celebrate the organization’s 16th anniversary and reflect on the growth journey they have built together over the years. The gathering created space to look back on 2025, recognize shared efforts, and review plans and strategic directions for the next phase.
This year’s activities focused on connection and exchange. Beyond work-related discussions, members shared personal reflections, aspirations, and perspectives on their lives and professional journeys. These open conversations strengthened mutual understanding and reaffirmed the values that guide SCDI’s collective work.

Sixteen years is a journey formed by many people, voices, and perspectives, and sustained by trust, solidarity, and shared purpose. As a gesture of appreciation for the commitment and quiet perseverance of its members, SCDI prepared a special ceramic elephant charm named “Harmony”. The gift symbolizes community, empathy, and the spirit of growing together, values that continue to shape SCDI’s path forward.

SCDI and BVIS Hanoi deliver Tet gifts to children in the Breaking the Cycle program
SCDI received 53 Tet gift boxes from the British Vietnamese International School Hanoi to deliver to children in the Breaking the Cycle program in Hong Ha Ward, Hanoi. This marked the fifth consecutive year BVIS Hanoi has accompanied the program through the Tet Shoeboxes initiative.
Each gift box was carefully prepared based on the wishes of individual children as Tet approached. The boxes were delivered directly to the children in a joyful and festive atmosphere. Some received new clothes for Tet, others storybooks or construction toys, while some were gifted study desks to support their daily learning.

In addition to the children’s wished-for items, Tet sweets and nutritious products were included to ensure the festive joy extended to their families as well. SCDI sincerely thanks the students, parents, and teachers of BVIS Hanoi for their continued trust and companionship, helping bring a warmer and more meaningful Tet to children and families in the Breaking the Cycle program.
