As part of the DREAMH project, supported by L'Initiative - Expertise France, SCDI recently organized several training sessions on community-based mental health interventions. The activity took place in Hai Phong city from June 29th to June 30th, and in Ninh Binh province from July 1st to July 2nd. The sessions brought together psychiatrists, community outreach workers, and representatives of local project partners.
Through discussions led by psychiatrists, participants explored common mental health conditions affecting people living with and affected by HIV, approaches to early identification, referral pathways to specialized mental health services, and strategies for supporting individuals throughout treatment and recovery.

These discussions helped community outreach workers strengthen the knowledge and practical skills needed to identify and respond to clients' diverse mental health needs, while fostering closer collaboration with psychiatrists, healthcare facilities, and local partners throughout project implementation.
Effective collaboration between community outreach workers and the healthcare system is essential to ensuring coordinated and timely mental health support. By strengthening these connections, the project aims to improve access to quality, people-centered mental health services, contributing to more comprehensive healthcare and an improved quality of life for people living with and affected by HIV.
