From September 28 to 29, SCDI hosted the first meeting of TBPeople Vietnam in Nghe An, bringing together members for two days of sharing, learning, and discussion on ways to strengthen the role of communities in Vietnam’s TB response.
TBPeople Vietnam brings together members with diverse experiences from across the country, including people who have experienced TB, people affected by TB, and those who have spent years supporting their communities and accompanying people affected by TB.
During the meeting, members discussed ways to strengthen community participation and connect people affected by TB, particularly those who face barriers to accessing appropriate healthcare services, with the healthcare system. Their experiences and insights also helped highlight community needs and explore practical ways for community members to contribute to improving the quality of TB care and treatment and the overall TB response.

The meeting provided an opportunity for members to connect, share experiences, and identify common directions for the work ahead. SCDI will continue to work alongside TBPeople Vietnam to strengthen community participation and contribute to sustainable improvements in Vietnam’s TB response.
