Community-based TB screening for early detection
Community-based TB screening for early detection

In recent weeks, through CSET members, SCDI has been carrying out community-based TB screening under the Global Fund project to Fight Tuberculosis across six project sites. The activities focus on reaching people in the community, providing counseling to raise awareness, and connecting them with appropriate health services.

Initial results recorded 1,746 people reached, 266 people counseled and successfully referred, and 59 cases who went on to provide sputum samples, leading to the timely detection of 2 tuberculosis patients in need of treatment.

These outcomes highlight the effectiveness of collaboration between the CSET network and local health partners in early detection, diagnosis, and support for patients. Each point of contact not only creates an opportunity for individuals to access care but also strengthens the collective effort to fight tuberculosis at the community level.

In the coming period, SCDI will continue working with the CSET network to sustain and expand community-based TB screening, with the goal of ensuring earlier detection and timely treatment for more people, contributing concretely to Vietnam’s national strategy to end tuberculosis.
