SCDI participates in the Country Dialogue Workshop on the Global Fund Tuberculosis proposal for 2027-2029

On May 5, 2026, SCDI joined the Country Dialogue Workshop on the development of The Global Fund Tuberculosis funding request for the period 2027-2029, held in Hanoi by the National Lung Hospital and the Vietnam Country Coordinating Mechanism for The Global Fund (VCCM).

The workshop brought together government agencies, development partners, civil society organizations, and community representatives affected by or working in tuberculosis (TB) response. Discussions focused on key priorities for the upcoming funding cycle, including early TB detection, expanding community-based services, strengthening TB/HIV integration, reducing stigma in healthcare settings, and ensuring the sustainability of health programs amid declining international funding.

At the workshop, SCDI shared practical experiences from supporting communities in accessing and staying connected to healthcare services, especially people facing financial barriers, limited health insurance coverage, or challenges in maintaining treatment. The important role of community-based organizations and community outreach workers in supporting and accompanying patients throughout the care journey was also highlighted.

The discussions and recommendations shared during the meeting will play an important role in strengthening the Global Fund funding proposal for the next implementation period. In turn, this will help sustain effective health programmes, strengthen their long-term impact, and ensure that no one is left behind.
